Offshore Oscar’s picks for September 20-21, 2008
By: Offshore Oscar | September 19th, 2008
Since Heidi Klum has been so supportive of my picks, as well as of my burgeoning modeling career, it pains me a bit to pick against her team this weekend. Actually, I’m not even sure Moenchengladbach is her team, but I do know that she grew up near there, and also that she recommends a bit of Vaseline on my teeth before I hit the catwalk to insure my smile can be seen from the back row.
Original bankroll: 1,000 units
Current bankroll: 1143.9 units
This weekend’s Offshore Oscar plays:
1 – I think Roy Keane will have the Black Cats poised for their first home win at The Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon. Look for Djibril Cisse to exploit the Boro defense and perhaps score a brace, maybe even a hat trick.
40 units on Sunderland to win at 2.3 (so a win gets us back 92 units, but a draw or loss gets us nothing)
2 – Two-team away parlay Bundesliga special
FC Koln have played well back in the top division after a two season absence and Arminia Bielefeld is struggling. With Ukrainian playmaker Andrei Voronin back in Germany, he might be able to help Hertha Berlin notch a victory at Borussia M’Gladbach.
20-point win parlay FC Koln at 2.80 into Hertha Berlin at 2.62 (so if both win we get back 20 x 2.80 x 2.62 = 146.72)
3 – Udinese and Napoli both scored impressive victories in the UEFA cup on Thursday. Udinese striker Antonio DiNatale will be fresh after playing for about 25 minutes, so they should hold the tactical advantage, especially at home.
40 units on Udinese to win at 2.10 against Napoli (so a win gets us back 84 units).
