Offshore Oscar’s picks Feb-24, 25 – Champions League midweek specials
By: Offshore Oscar | February 23rd, 2009
When Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross was credited with the teams’ third goal against Portsmouth in the 90th minute, it felt like a sweet moment for our wager, which could have only been made better had it not been an own-goal that locked the match up at two-all. Such is betting on the so-called beautiful game, and Palermo didn’t help matters by giving up a pair of goals to Juve.

This week’s Offshore Oscar plays:
1 – Wow! What a match to start off this Champions League round – Inter hosting Manchester United. Both are in first place in their leagues and both are playing really well. It’s the fast paced EPL versus the tactical Serie A. Inter’s two imposing strikers, Adriano and Ibrahimovic have been on the same page in their last few matches and will have to face Man U’s two exceptional central defenders, Ferdinand and Vidic. On the other side, Inter’s defense must contain Christiano Ronaldo. We’ll give Inter the edge at the San Siro.
40 units on Inter to win at 2.37 (so a win gets us back 94.8 units)
2 – Wednesday Champions League parlay – Chelsea and Villareal both cruised in their matches over the weekend. Chelsea hosts a resurgent Juventus, but should get a comfortable win at Stamford Bridge. Yellow Submarine are flying high with American born, Italy international, Guiseppe Rossi, and should win against the visiting Greeks.
40-unit win parlay on Chelsea at 1.67 into Villareal at 1.53 (so if both win we get back 40 x 1.67 x 1.53 = 102.2 units)
