Offshore Oscar’s picks for November 4 and 5
By: Offshore Oscar | November 4th, 2008
After building the bankroll with a series of safe and solid bets, now it’s time to get stupid since we are playing with pure winnings. The Champion’s League matches this week provide a perfect opportunity to roll the dice, and if my Ukrainian parlay comes through I’ll finally be able to afford a personal computer, or what’s left of General Motors.
Original bankroll: 1,000 units
Current bankroll: 1,177.3 units
This week’s Offshore Oscar plays:
1 – It’s payback time for Shaktar Donetsk, who lost at home to Sporting Lisbon in their last match. This is a must win for them if they want to advance. Dynamo Kiev are having a better go of it this year, both domestically and in the Champions League. They will want to hold on to second place, especially with a trip to the Emirates looming.
30-unit Ukrainian win parlay – Shaktar at 5.00 into Dynamo Kiev at 2.30 (so if both win we get back 30 x 5.00 x 2.30 = 345 units)
2 – Real Madrid was probably looking ahead to this week’s match with Juventus when they could only muster a 1-1 draw at Almeria, and they will be looking to leapfrog the boys from Turin in the standings. But I think Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri will come in with a good plan and Juventus will escape the Bernabeu with a draw.
40 units on a Real Madrid – Juventus draw at 3.60 (so if the game ends even we get back 144 units)
