Offshore Oscar’s picks for January 10 and 11, 2009

By: Offshore Oscar | January 9th, 2009

Thanks to a so-called “frozen pitch” in Sheffield (sissies!), my lock-of-the-century parlay last weekend got knocked down to a single match (which we won), and we got our ass kicked on everything else, so it wasn’t my finest moment. We are still playing with everyone else’s money, so we’ll stay on tilt and take a few more big swings before it’s too late.

Original bankroll: 1,000 units
Current bankroll: 1,272.4 units

This weekend’s Offshore Oscar plays:

1 – Let’s see if Fulham can keep their hot streak going in January. The Cottagers had a nice FA cup win in Sheffield, with Andy Johnson scoring a brace. With him and American Clint Dempsey heating up, they should take care of business at home against Blackburn.

50 units Fulham to win at 2.10 (so a win gets us back 105 units)

2 – It might take Portsmouth a few weeks to recover from the loss of Jermaine Defoe and Manchester City is steaming after their ouster from the FA Cup at the expense on Nottingham Forest. Wigan have been ok at the JJB so far this season and they should pull out a close one versus the visiting Spurs.

40-unit win parlay on Man City at 2.50 into Wigan at 2.40 (so if both win we get back 40 x 2.50 x 2.40 = 240 units)

3 – Deportivo have 4 wins in their last 5 matches and should be ready for Sevilla at the Riazor. Racing Santander showed us last week that they are ready for 2009 with a nice away win.

40-unit win parlay on Deportivo La Coruna at 2.40 into Racing Santander at 1.80 (so if both win we get back 40 x 2.40 x 1.80 = 172.8 units)
