Offshore Oscar’s picks for November 1 and 2
By: Offshore Oscar | October 31st, 2008
My huge London 3-team parlay looked home and dry until Arsenal gave up 2 goals to Tottenham starting in the 89th minute, coming away with a 4-4 draw in one of the highest scoring games in recent memory. WTF? My Rome parlay got short circuited by the Roma game being called off, though Lazio did come through so we earned a single-game win there. We’ll come back this weekend with some strong plays to get us back on our usual winning ways.
Original bankroll: 1,000 units
Last week’s bankroll: 1,094.2 units
Current bankroll: 1,105.3 units
This weekend’s Offshore Oscar plays
1 – Tottenham will be full of confidence (perhaps overconfidence) awaiting the visit from the Reds on Saturday after their miraculous comeback at the Emirates. Liverpool was only able to muster a penalty versus Portmouth at Anfield. Benitez does not want to give up points, now that Liverpool is in first place.
60 units on Liverpool to win at 2.10 (so a win gets us back 126 units)
2 – After giving up 2 late goals to Athletico Madrid last week, Villareal tanked it to Poli Ejido in the King’s Cup. They will be ready for their trip to Bilbao on Saturday. After early disasters against Real Madrid and Barcelona, newbies Sporting Gijon faces an easy part of the schedule.
40-unit two-team win parlay Villareal at 2.15 into Sporting Gijon at 2.00 (so if both win we get back 40 x 2.15 x 2.00 = 172 units)
