weekend action – Saturday

I wish to welcome those who clamour for action to my section of The Offside. This is information-based and comments are not recommendations to matches.

The start of the World Cup qualifiers serves up a broad selection of matches on Saturday. After gleaming through each of the matches and studying reports, I have dropped it down to the following eight in-play matches. I have based this decision upon current injuries, changes in manager, recent performances and timely reporting by coaching groups. Without accurate reports I have excluded the match from consideration. I am waiting for clarification on Turkey v Armenia and France v Austria as both matches could quickly jump on the list, should injury situations be better understood as these are very interesting plays.
