Offshore Oscar’s picks for December 20 and 21, 2008

No one hates scoreless draws more than I do, but last weekend the Man U – Spurs bore-fest paid off bigtime, and once again I’m (barely) in the black for the season. To everything, churn, churn, churn. Denise Milani has, once again, asked me to post a holiday photo of her next to my picks for the weekend. She really seems to love the attention, and it’s hard to say no to her for some reason.

This weekend’s Offshore Oscar plays:

1 – Fulham have not lost in their last 5 matches with 1 win and 4 draws. With a Boxing Day match looming at Spurs next week, they have to hold their home turf at Craven Cottage. Maybe Andy Johnson or Jimmy Bullard can get in a groove against a weak Boro defense Saturday and help Fulham get the 3 points.

40 units on Fulham to win at 2.20 (so a win gets us back 88 units)

2 – Eternal City parlay. Lazio rose from the dead last week and came back from 3-0 down to salvage a point. They host Palermo on Saturday, who have not been good away from Sicily. Roma, meanwhile, travel to Sicily to face Catania. I’m writing this before they find out their opponents in the Champions League, so hopefully they will concentrate on this match and not think ahead.

30-unit parlay on Lazio at 1.80 into at Roma 1.73 (so if both win we get back 30 x 1.80 x 1.73 = 93.4 units)

3 – Let’s take a flyer with the Gunners in the big EPL match of the weekend. Hopefully this will be an entertaining match, Arsenal has to keep the red hot Steven Gerrard in check.

40 units on Arsenal to win at 2.37 (so a Gunners win gets us back 94.8 units)
