Offshore Oscar’s picks for October 29, 2008
By: Offshore Oscar | October 28th, 2008
Last weekend would have been a bit better if Portsmouth hadn’t blown their lead in the final minutes, but AC Milan came through so it wasn’t a disaster. I’m still ahead for the season, so I can’t complain much.
In honor of my recent trip to London and my fondness for pizza, I’m going to string together parlays of most of London’s Premiere League teams and also the Rome teams to build some value out of some short prices, I hope.
Original bankroll: 1,000 units
Current bankroll: 1,094.2 units
This Wednesday’s Offshore Oscar plays:
1 – Fulham never gave up on Sunday at Portsmouth as American striker Clint Dempsey volleyed in the equalizer, they should carry the momentum at home in Craven Cottage. Dare we go against Hull City again, but Chelsea is steamed after Liverpool broke their home unbeaten record. Harry Redknapp will have the Spurs ready at the Emirates, but the young Gunners have too much firepower.
30-unit London teams win parlay Fulham at 2.40 into Chelsea at 1.40 into Arsenal at 1.44 (so if they all win we get back 30 x 2.40 x 1.40 x 1.44 = 145.15 units) (And yes, we do not have the guts to make it a 4-teamer with West Ham at Man U!)
2 – Lazio has come down to earth after their great start, but they shoud be able to notch a win up in Verona. Roma looked good in their Champions league loss at Chelsea, but looked out of sorts in Udinese, losing 1-3. They should get back on the winning track against a decent Sampdoria.
30-unit Rome teams win parlay Lazio at 2.37 into Roma at 1.72 (so if they both win we get back 30 x 2.37 x 1.72 = 122.29 units)
